Windows with Vista Window Film applied can be safely cleaned without risk of damage. We recommend our customers use a soft, clean cloth, soft paper towel, even squeegees. Any household glasscleaning solution is fine to use, as long as it does not contain any abrasive materials i.e. scotchbrite, steel wool. The films are so clear their application can become long forgotten. Just remember not to use razor blades or any sharp tools around the windows. Vista’s patented scratch resistant coating has significantly reduced the risk of washing your windows.

Yes! Vista Window Film will only enhance your Low E Windows. Vista will reject 99.9% UV rays. This is well above the UV rejection offered by the market’s most efficient Low E windows. There are two basic types of low E glazing systems. One of these is a conductive coating put on glass as it is being made. It gives some heat loss reduction, but does little to reduce heat gain into a building. The second type is a more complex system of multiple layers of metals and conductive coatings deposited on glass after it has been made. This type of low E glass gives some heat reduction, but still nowhere near the level that Vista Window Film can achieve. By adding Vista Window Film to your Low E Windows you can better control solar heat gain, control glare, prevent heat loss, reduce fading, or simply enhance the safety of your windows.

Granted your houseplants are receiving enough sunlight at the time of the application, your houseplants will continue to flourish. In many instances houseplants become healthier after the application of window film due to the reduction of heat. The plants dry out less and require less water. The decision is up to you! Solar films can make a room dark if reducing visible light is one of your objectives. Vista films range from virtually invisible to very dark and reflective. Our virtually invisible films will not noticeably reduce the amount of visible light transmittance into your home. The darker shades, however, can and will reduce visible light transmittance into your home.

Vista Window Film is guaranteed never to bubble or it will be replaced at no cost to you. The patented CDF adhesive is unlike any other on the market today. It chemically bonds to your glass to form to the window forever. It is not soft, thick and unstable like most pressure sensitive adhesive systems (sticky films). It will not bubble! It’s optics are also far superior to any other adhesive system on the market. Over time pressure sensitive adhesives will settle and shift. This can cause optical distortion over time. If you follow the care guidelines for your Vista film it will look the same in ten years as it does the day after it’s installed.

Yes, the combination of the polyester and adhesives used to construct our film makes glass safer than it ever was before. An object such as a brick can be thrown against a window, and if thrown powerfully enough, could penetrate the window, but the rest of the glass will be held in place by the film. If the window did not have window film applied, large shards of glass would fly throughout the room and leave a very large hole where glass had been.

Drying time varies between films, solar exposure, and seasonal changes. Typically the film is completely dry within 20-30 days.

During the daytime, the answer is yes without a doubt. At night time however, the answer is typically no. If the interior of the building is brighter than the exterior, people will be able to see inside. However if the right lighting situation can be achieved once way film is available at night.

While blinds are effective at reducing the amount of light in a room, they are very poor at reducing the heat gain, even with insulated blinds. This a large gap between the glass and the blinds. Heat builds up in this area, and radiates through the blinds. This heat can be considerably greater than the outside air because it is concentrated in such a small space.
